Yep, definitely a friend of Towhee's.  He probably shoulda guessed with the way his jokes had gone over like a brick on initial meeting... but she seemed ok with him now, so at least she was willing to meet halfway.  For the millionth time he wondered if he was really that hard to handle.

"Nothin wrong with that, and a cute enough stork at least," he said with a smile, brushing lightly against her shoulder so as not to throw off her already iffy stride.  There was only friendly warmth in his tone... he talked a big game, but honestly, Colt had put his heartbreaking ways to bed a year ago, and he hadn't much regained the taste for it.
