She had stuck to a familiar trail until she hadn't, for that was the way of Clary. One would never find new things if they only kept to the familiar or old, and so much of this Valley was both familiar and old. Her family lay just a little to the South, or something like that, and they were both near and far from her mind today. Being back on more familiar ground brought a certain longing to her paws, and Clary had intentionally ventured near where she knew her family lived, as much as she'd intentionally stayed away. She needed food, and while the grounds around Easthollow would have been the easiest ones to navigate for prey, she knew her family needed them more than she.

This place seemed interesting enough. Promising, at least, unoccupied apart from the twisting trails of rabbits and sheep. Clary sprinted across the foothills in search of something fresh, when she caught the movement of a herd of bighorn still specks a good distance away. Big hooves, bigger horns? Yeah, not today. But as she redirected herself, she noticed a more welcome sight trailing behind the sheep - a large fellow, probably much bigger than she, but such details had never perturbed the young ranger before. His lope was distinctly wolf, and that was enough to warrant her company. Once the girl had finished her arc of avoidance, she turned right back around and steered toward the wolf, loping up from behind.
