shitty phone post because :eyes: hello son.
Grezig was out on border patrol like always. Since everything that had happened (vague on purpose) she was feeling a little on edge and border patrol always seemed to calm her nerves. At the edge of the trees, she came across a young male with a coat agouti like hers. He was not quite a man, still a pup, though nearly into adolescence. Xizur had disappeared from her life so early, she did not recognize him.
"You stand at the edge of Uaine Gorsedd," she said, her voice calm but firm. "State your name and business."
Xizur.
Grezig’s entire body felt like it had just been struck by lightning. She physically flinched. Her legs trembled. She looked at him, from head to toe, her eyes flitting over his body. Silver eyes, like Vaati’s grandfather. Coat so very like hers. Could it really be him?
“I thought you were dead,” she whispered. Then she cleared her throat, trying to snap herself back to normal, or as close to normal as she could get. “Xizur,” she said. “I am Grezig. I am your mother. Do you… do you remember me?” Gods, she hoped he did. She hoped he had not forgotten her, so young had he been when he had disappeared, and she had gone away from the coast soon afterwards. “Your father’s name is Vaati. You have a sister named Tizir. Do any of these names sound familiar to you?”
Grezig felt as if Xizur had slapped her in the face. She stumbled backwards away from him at his one-word response. He had shut her down immediately, so quickly, so… harshly. And he’d said
one word. No. Now she knew how it must feel when
she acted so unfeeling. How horrible.
She turned away half-blindly and ran, unaware of where she was going. Her son did not remember her. And Tizir was far away. And Illidan… she did not even know if Illidan lived. And here, she had finally discovered her son’s fate only to have him forget who she was. It was too much. Too much. She kept running.
