if i agreed with you, we'd both be wrong - Xizur - January 16, 2020

set sometime after this thread

He'd continued down the creek's edge after his encounter with the earthly hued sylph, his attention now set upon the rich patch of aspens that lied just within eyesight up ahead. If he was not mistaken, this was the emberwood Bhediya had spoke of on their first meeting. It was her home, or rather had been not to long ago.

The curly furred wisp had not bothered to enlighten him on why she'd left, and truth was he didn't care much to know either. He was only curious in discovering the nature of those who inhabited the woodlands for himself. Were they friends? Were they foes? He supposed he was about to find out.

shitty phone post because :eyes: hello son.

Grezig was out on border patrol like always. Since everything that had happened (vague on purpose) she was feeling a little on edge and border patrol always seemed to calm her nerves. At the edge of the trees, she came across a young male with a coat agouti like hers. He was not quite a man, still a pup, though nearly into adolescence. Xizur had disappeared from her life so early, she did not recognize him.

"You stand at the edge of Uaine Gorsedd," she said, her voice calm but firm. "State your name and business."

hello there ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

He'd been no more than a few feet away from the edge of their claim when the sudden words caused his attention to snap in the woman's direction. He'd been expecting to be found out eventually, but would have preferred to have gone without an audience for a tad bit longer. Oh well, no helping it now.

He let his tail brush carelessly against his hocks as he came to a stop, ears pressed forward and eyes glued to her well shaped figure as she demanded his name and reason for being here. "Xizur", he announced while glancing to the creek beside him, his mind desperately trying to figure out how to word his excuse for approaching their lands. After a moment of consideration he eventually went with a firm "just scouting" for his business of being here, decidedly leaving out the unnecessary details that prompted his visit.

Xizur.

Grezig’s entire body felt like it had just been struck by lightning. She physically flinched. Her legs trembled. She looked at him, from head to toe, her eyes flitting over his body. Silver eyes, like Vaati’s grandfather. Coat so very like hers. Could it really be him?

“I thought you were dead,” she whispered. Then she cleared her throat, trying to snap herself back to normal, or as close to normal as she could get. “Xizur,” she said. “I am Grezig. I am your mother. Do you… do you remember me?” Gods, she hoped he did. She hoped he had not forgotten her, so young had he been when he had disappeared, and she had gone away from the coast soon afterwards. “Your father’s name is Vaati. You have a sister named Tizir. Do any of these names sound familiar to you?”

Xizur had never believed in anything other than himself, and that had always been enough.

Even now when faced with the revelation that he had a mother, a family - it meant very little to him. She was his past tied to the present by nothing other than the blood shared between them. He owed her nothing. She owed him nothing. They were strangers meeting for the first time on the edge of a forest, nothing more, nothing less.

"No" came his answer to both of her questions, expression glazed with what little sympathy he held for her.

Grezig felt as if Xizur had slapped her in the face. She stumbled backwards away from him at his one-word response. He had shut her down immediately, so quickly, so… harshly. And he’d said one word. No. Now she knew how it must feel when she acted so unfeeling. How horrible.

She turned away half-blindly and ran, unaware of where she was going. Her son did not remember her. And Tizir was far away. And Illidan… she did not even know if Illidan lived. And here, she had finally discovered her son’s fate only to have him forget who she was. It was too much. Too much. She kept running.

[Exit.]

Sorry! Grezig got a little emotional lmao.
