[maybe @Sebastian or @Aviana?]
she ought to be able to walk. her limbs are whole, unbroken and unwounded, yet the deep and jagged rip across her rear haunch burns and throbs with every step. today, it is hot and angry and inflamed. her limping gait takes her to one of the streams that run through the territory, remembering easier now to keep her ears still atop her crown, each flicker of them causing shooting pain down the side of her skull where one is severed.
she hadn't called for or sought out Aditya since he left her to deal with Loir, nor has she sought the company of her brother, who too seems unwell but for different reasons than she.
finding one of the crooked little streams she sought, she splashed down into the barely-there current, maneuvering carefully so that her torn haunch rests in the current. her jaw is lined with tension at the initial hurt of the water, but the coolness does its job and the wound becomes numb, the water flushing dried blood and the beginnings of infection from the wound; sickness her careful cleaning has been unable to keep away entirely.

Days had passed since the white wolf had attacked Dawn, and Loir had recently become a comrade, a full member of Morningside. However, it didn't mean anything to her at the moment. The attack had taken an impact on Loir. It made her more prone to maybe getting snappy or aggressive, and made her feel more confident to fight, but also made her sad and worried that she or her packmates could get attacked by that same wolf or maybe a wolf with a similar personality to that wolf who injured Dawn.
Loir had made herself a den to sleep in, and she had hid herself away in it, refusing to come out at the moment. She rested her head on her paws, ears pinned back against her head, and her amber eyes had lost their ember-like glow that resembled a fire, now looking dull with sadness.

Aviana had left her den temporarily in an effort to get in a little exercise and stretch her legs. She loved Faye dearly, but it was hard when her daughter didn't like to leave the area of the den. She was trying to her best to make her feel comfortable and safe, and Aviana was sure she just needed to be patient.
She set off in search of some water, and her tail wagged when she found Dawn, too. Dawn, she said cheerily. She stopped in her tracks when she saw Dawn's wounds on her face, and then her eyes raked over the rest of her friend's body. What happened? she exclaimed, moving to sniff Dawn, Are you alright? she added, beginning to fuss. Aviana had no idea what had transpired.
Her gaze, frantic as it wasn't, hadn't seen Loir at first. But, the other female became clear, and Aviana looked at her with questioning eyes before turning back to Dawn. Who had done this to her dear friend?

her solitude went uninterrupted until the familiar voice of Aviana had her twist her head back, auds perking before she promptly remembered that one was absent and pain jolted through her skull. she moved to grin, remembering to keep her ears still this time as her friend's voice turned to concern. she moved to poke the woman's shoulder with her muzzle, adding, "I'll be fine." her injuries were nasty yet few, and (most) would heal fully.
"I was hunting in the Maplewood, and a stranger attacked me unprovoked." that was what bothered her most - she could understand violence if she'd made a kill some other had thought to be there's, or intruded on a loner's small claim. but there was no reason for the male to attack her savagely as he had, which meant the rest of the pack would be at risk if he hung around. her expression faltered a moment before her gaze flickered back to Aviana's. "he was pale - cream and white. massive."

hey loir! I wasn't able to respond to your post since it seemed that loir had "hid herself away" in her den, and dawn wouldn't have a reason to look for her atm

Loir eventually decided to come out of hiding, but when she walked, she walked sorrowfully, and her tail was slightly tucked between her legs, and her ears were pinned back. Loir felt horrible, and she looked at Dawn and Aviana. "Hi..." She murmured, and the injuries on Dawn, in Loir's opinion, were just too scarring, they made Loir feel scared for what could happen next.
Loir stared at the ground, wanted to hunt, but felt as though she couldn't.

She frowned at Dawn, worrying that she would not be fine. She snaked out her tongue to run it over Dawn's facial injuries, should the other female allow her to. Aviana knew it was important to keep them clean, or else they might get infected.
Her eyes almost bugged out of her head when Dawn told her what happened. Aviana knew food was a little scarce, but she still hated that some wolf had attacked her Alpha. Does Aditya know? We should make everyone aware so they can keep a look out, she said. Just in case the male was hungry enough to cross into Morningside. Aviana, being out of the loop since the birth of her daughter, didn't assume everyone might already know.
Loir's voice had her looking up. It was then Aviana noticed a change in the girl. She wasn't nearly as chipper as their first encounter. Loir? Are you okay? Did she get hurt, too? Aviana's gaze looked over her, but didn't find any obvious signs of injuries. Were they internal?

she was silent as the woman tended carefully to the torn ear and thin scratches around it. it remained that Aviana and Sunny were her closest companions, and without seeing much of her brother, the wounds had retrieved little care. she withdrew to ask more of what had occurred and for a tiny second, something akin to hurt glinted in her gaze. "I'm sure he's heard about it from Shale, or -" she broke off as familiar voice had her half-twist, gaze alighting on Loir.
the last she'd seen of the woman, her attempts at remedying the hurt she felt (hurt she could not understand in the least - who wished they'd gotten maimed?) had resulted in Loir making a quick and silent exit. her face settled into something unreadable, and was spared having to probe at the woman's droppiness by Aviana's question.

Loir had just known she had been shaken by what had happened, so when Aviana had asked if she was alright, Loir explained. "What happened, that attack caused by that white wolf, it's kind of taken an impact on me." She replied. "I've never tried to hurt anyone, and I've never gotten so defensive or angry before." The female then sat down, hoping she could eventually feel better, and she knew she would, it would just take time.

Aviana did not miss that sudden but short-lived glint in Dawn's eyes. Any other time, she would have asked, but now was not the time for that, especially when they weren't alone. Dawn said she was sure the Alpha male had heard about it from Shale, but all Aviana heard was that neither of them had told him.
Before she could chastise her friend for not warning Aditya, Loir confessed that the attack had shaken her up. Aviana's gaze softened towards the other female. You stood up and did your best to protect your pack mate, she explained. You should feel proud of yourself, she said sternly, before her voice softened. I do. And Aviana was sure the others did, too. How could they not?
Her gaze went back to Dawn. I think we should confirm that @Aditya knows to be on the lookout, as well as the rest of the pack. She couldn't fathom any reason Aditya shouldn't know. But, she was a little worried Dawn and Aditya weren't communicating well since they split romantically. Remaining the Alpha pair with the romance removed could be difficult, and put added strain on both them and the pack. She had faith, however, that Dawn could, and would, get passed it for the good of the pack.

she watched Loir evenly to see how she'd respond to Aviana's words. would she simply walk away once more, or would the old woman produce some sort of positive reaction?
attention was stolen by Aviana's next words, and a sigh was narrowly cut off when she remembered the presence of Loir. "I'll speak to him." an offer made more easily with the presence of the newest joiner, the knowledge that she needed to keep up appearances. eager still to change the discussion, she asked of Aviana, "your daughter - how is she?" she'd surely be doing well, otherwise, she would have heard something through the grapevine. Avaina's daughter was the first she'd felt no reservations around, no worries she'd squash her or an avoidance that lasted until she was old enough to no longer be perceived as delicate.
