He halted as there was evidence of movement ahead, and within a few moments the enemy appeared. Three of them, sizing up their opponents as Elwood did the same. His gaze roved over each wolf for a split second that seemed to last years. Then, without allowing himself to think too much, he peeled his lips back from his teeth with a snarl.
