Colt's returned greeting was equal to hers in cheer, but his demeanor shifted quickly as they drew near to one another. Concern knitted her features as she wondered what was up, but she didn't need to wonder for long. Never one to beat around the bush, Colt got straight to the point. It's about Towhee.

"Oh no," she breathed, her ears turning rearward in dismay. "What's she done now?" She knew there was no love lost between her sister and the wayward Blackthorn, but she had hoped that they could mend the rift between them now that Towhee was no longer alpha. Gesturing for Colt to walk with her, she headed toward the other side of the lake, which appeared to be deserted and might offer them a bit more privacy.
