Their ranks were not as buffered as he would have liked, but he felt they were finally beginning to build a pack of wolves who had either proven their worth or their loyalty, and for that he was grateful. Chusi had bore her punishment with a grace he appreciated, and while he worried about winter and feeding the mouths of six whelps, he made a special note to himself to organize a gathering for the youths of the pack, perhaps to introduce them more formally to the skill of a small hunt.
 
The most elusive of their members to the stocky wolf was @Mahler – the wolf with the thick accent. He heard little of the male, and saw little of him – but his presence was thick within the creek, though it also spoke of small travels, trailing outside the borders quite often.
 
He was curious as to why – but more so, he was curious of the wolf he knew so little of, and so the swarthy shaodwrunner stalked through the foliage of the creek, his eyes drifting from the leaves that only now were beginning to tint the color of autumn to the paths ahead, seeking out the Gamma.
