All Welcome
Eske barely was found inside the birthing den anymore, except when she was given no choice. She found it too crowded and having spent so much time within it's confines she reveled in the open sky. She assumed her siblings and mother were asleep and lazily stretched and scooted from her siblings and Gyda before she had laid back down and pretended to sleep away from them. She waited like this, exercising a surprising amount of patience, for a few minutes, peeking a milky blue eye open to ensure that she had not caught anyone's attention. Holding her breath, she rose to her paws and tip-toed outside, imploring a stealthiness that the grounder princess was slowly getting better at. She did not go far, comprehending the dangers the world held for her at such a young age and small stature. Yet, Eske was the spear of the gods. The Grounder Princess — someday she would be the Grounder Queen (since she couldn't be Heda of course), and she wasn't scared of anything (or so she thought!).

She peered over her shoulder before she plopped down beside a rock to hide herself from night predators that could potentially take off with her if only to tell herself she was making an effort and soothing her mother's worries even if she was still disobeying direct orders. But she loved the night sky and she couldn't sleep, so she turned her wide-eyed, awestruck gaze heavenward and studied the stars that littered the dark sky above.

She stirred as her ink-colored sibling slipped from the den and into the night, leaving behind a symphony of snores for the great outdoors. Blinking heavily the pale Goufda lifted her head and looked to the clearing. She was intrigued to see where her sibling was going and as such quietly raised herself onto unsteady paws and crept out after the dark child. She did her best not to be seen, slithering in the shadows like a stalking serpent, until she wanted her sister to see her. When that moment came the eldest hatching stood and gave a soft woof to alert the other.

“Sis!” she breathed, her words hissing into the humid summer air. “Chiwt yu duwla?”
