Silver Creek so cute, much kids

he hadn't found any food yet today, but he had found a wicked-looking piece of wood, one he fancied looked sort of like a wolf. this he carried proudly to where Saena stashed her brood -- nodding at whatever wolf tended them today, the boy flopped to his belly.

he had met Aria out in the wilds, but was beginning to realize his feelings for her were abating. yes, he loved her, and longed for her touch again, but seeing her flirt with that stupid dude told him she was over him. why wouldn't she be? and so he'd get over her, too.

"hey, kids, wanna see something really boss?" he laughed in a whisper toward the denmouth.

Laurel was snoring loudly when she heard the voice. Ears perked and she got up with an excited "Wabbanoo??" Laurel scrambled to her feet and with clumsy bounds she galloped towards the den's entrance. One ear was perked and one folded down as she halted there and looked up at Casmir, a presence that she was used to by now.

The wood he had brought went unnoticed so far as Laurel bounced over to him and without any warning started to climb along the curve of his shoulder to reach his back while letting out loud nonsensical garbling.

he was soon greeted by one exuberant pup, who bounded from the darkness of the den to clamber upon his shoulder. "hey!" Casmir exclaimed, though his tail thumped in the dust behind him. peering past her small body, he searched for any sign of little Laurel's siblings. they were probably napping.

rolling over carefully, as not to smash the kid under his back, Casmir gave a few fake snaps in her direction, and then pushed his gift toward the pup. "lookit this, Lorry," he murmured, comprising a nickname for her on the spot.

It was a rare moment indeed to find Indra and Milo quieted down and somewhere else than by Laurel's side — it wasn't often that she got free reign of caretakers or visitors. Her tail whirred in excitement while she climbed across Mt. Casmir, but her adventure was soon disturbed by the motion of Casmir rolling over. With a surprised "Oop!" Laurel tumbled off his back as he came into motion and somersaulted to land on her butt on the ground.

For a moment Laurel looked around in confusion, before she quickly adapted and scrambled to her little feet again. Just as she turned around, Casmir presented her with something new and strange, and Laurel craned her neck; forward at first, arching it as far as she could to sniff, then back and upwards, hackles raising at the prickling new situation. After a second or two Laurel then came into motion again and bounced towards the funny-looking piece of wood. She woofed at it and bowed her front to the ground in order to paw at it then, challenging the lifeless piece of wood. Every time she'd bat the wood it would stir a little, causing Laurel to dash to the side in order to repeat the motions.

Casmir tried to swallow his laughter, but a few snorts slipped through anyway as Lorry began to posture and bristle, bouncing around in front of the inanimate piece of wood as though it were an enemy out to get her. the cruel idea of trolling the girl by chasing her with the thing occurred to him; he let his mind know it was stupid for churning out the thought and batted at the wood. 

"Get it, Lorry!" he crowed, tail thumping the dusty ground behind him. "Bite its head off!" as he spoke, Cas peered past her fuzzy little shoulder to watch for Indra and Milo, wondering if they'd finally join their sister.

With a dangerous (but probably just cute) grrrr Laurel challenged the piece of wood to give up while it still could. It didn't budge however, only bobbing up and down a little bit each time Laurel batted at it but not backing off like it should. The audacity!

Encouraged by Casmir's words, Laurel pounced at the piece of wood and landed on top of it. Laurel fell over, her newly found nemesis at her side and wrapped her mouth around whatever piece of the wood she could grab, hoping to get the upper hand again.

He chuckled as she bit fiercely at the wood, encouraging her with a low bark before he squiggled closer and took it into his mouth. now he dragged it slowly backward, disentangling Laurel from around it. a gentle tug-of-war would be fun, right? remembering how he'd been too rough with his little sisters in the beginning, Casmir was much more aware of himself this time around, using slow movements around the Creek pup.

When the piece of wood was suddenly removed, Laurel tumbled away from on top of it, tumbling onto the ground. She quickly clambered to her feet and shook her fur before looking around indignantly. What'd happened?! She then saw the piece of wood going away from her, presumably attacking Casmir.

Putting on her super hero costume, Laurel ducked forward and wrapped her teeth around the piece of wood once more to try and pull it off Casmir, all the while making a low rumbling grrrr sound.

her little growling was so cute, and so was the snap of her tiny white milk teeth as she sank it into the piece of wood and began to worry it back and forth. the boy held onto it a bit longer before he "accidentally" let go of the thing and it dragged across the ground, presumably in Laurel's grasp.

"oh, no!" he exclaimed in faux tones of outrage, trotting toward her. "i'm gonna get you!" he crowed then, pretending to jump at the tiny pup.

Laurel was pulling the thing with her full weight, moving it from left to right while growling into the wood all along. She was pulling so hard that when Casmir let go, Laurel tumbled backwards, falling flat on her butt with the piece of wood still in her mouth. She shook her mouth, shaking the wood back and forth before deciding that it was deceased and no longer posed a threat.

With the piece of wood out of the way, Laurel proudly turned to Casmir, only to see that the one she had just saved was coming for her this time. As he pounced at her, Laurel's ears flattened at the outright betrayal and she met Casmir head-on, moving towards him and trying to wrap her mouth around his legs, already the victor in her own mind.

he guffawed loudly as Laurel killed the piece of wood and then jumped at him, her little teeth flashing again. they were sharp though; he didn't have to feign the yelp that broke from his throat as she closed her jaws on his foreleg. lowering his own muzzle, he pretended to nip at her ears and neck, and would topple her if she let him.

Cas' eyes danced -- this was the most fun he'd had in weeks, and he was going to prolong it for as long as he was able.

Laurel giggled and pounced Casmir, eager to play some more with him. As he nipped at her, Laurel toppled over involuntarily and she let out a screech of utter displeasal at this indignance. How dare he overthrow her in such a manner?! Small paws reached out towards Casmir's face as she held off her assailant, eager to get back on her feet and continue her assault on him.
