The wraith took pause at the borders – the bridge to land was crumbled now, the sandbar partially washed away and the ocean was rather tumultuous that day. But it was not or never. His life here was not the fresh start he hoped for – instead, the scent of Aria haunted him where he went – he had never before believed in the will of the universe, but if there had ever been a hint that it was not meant to be between him and the pale dove, it was certainly this – the universe couldn’t have slapped him in the face with it any harsher than it had, between everything the two had been together.
 
He stayed, because a part of him had hoped she would remember – had hoped she would forgive him. But to cling to the past kept him from moving forward, and he could not do so here. The wolves of the isle were disjointed – but he had grown fond of them – at least, Stockholm and the shadow imp.
 
Komodo’s scent had faded – a reminder that the male had taken an excursion. He could not help but think Aria awaited the man eagerly – another reminder that he would never be a priority to her. It had mostly been fault of his own – he should have spoke sooner. Should have never left. Should have done a lot of things differently.. but now, with him erased from her memory, it was impossible.
 
With a parting howl to the few that remained, the swarthy wolf began to trek across the sandbar, suddenly feeling claustrophobic by the islands restraints. He knew what it was he set out to do now – and so the Mayfair plunged in to the ocean, the salt water licking at him and the currents pulling at him – but he would succeed, and as he reached dry lands, Constantine forcefully pushed himself forward, not allowing himself the chance to look back. He couldn’t – for he feared he would somehow catch a glimpse of her white fur, and be pulled back to her side once more.
