when he raised himself up, swiping a tongue over his lips and nose, he spotted some lady. she was absolutely not out of sight-- they were in flatlands with a giant ass lake in the middle. he could see everything... kinda. he could at least see her.

he studied her for a moment curiously, nose and whiskers twitching as he waited for her to stop drinking. tegan was still young, clearly a pup, and he was of a pretty average size. he was less than threatening, even if he didn't care to believe that. he let out a light bark when she was done, tail wagging. "yo! you know what this place is?" he called out to her. tegan assumed everyone he met just knew where they were traveling... probably not actually accurate but, he was young? what else was he supposed to assume?
