Moonspear change of tides

Lyra joined them just as she prepared to tell her father just where she was going. She shot her sister a guilty look even though they'd agreed that she should take a chance as soon as it came to her. It was easy to see that Lyra wouldn't be happy to see her go, no matter what they'd agreed in private.

"One of my friends, Nikai, came to ask if I wanted to go on a trip," she explained, willing her voice not to tremble. She only mostly succeeded. "I don't know if I'll get another chance to go - I've been delaying and delaying for months and months, now... And I'll come back soon, I promise.
