Blackfeather Woods Ours is a cycle of hatred

It was a while before Maegi discovered there was a whole other world outside the den. With no mother--at least a coherent one--nor father to escort her into said world, she made her way out herself, marveling at the vines that tickled her as they brushed against her snowy pelt. She stumbled out, only to discover her little brother was out already, sitting and calling to the sky.

With an excited little squeal, she romped awkwardly toward him, coming to an abrupt halt that nearly tumbled her off her feet. She touched his little head with her tiny nose and smiled, then batted him playfully on one of his floppy dark ears.

While their basic needs had been met, the pups had been robbed of the traditional experiences of childhood, owing it all to apathetic parents and a pack which most members likely thought of them as vermin. The trio had had to rely on each other, playing and socializing with each other while Potema lay delirious at a distance from them.
