The days went by and he, anxious and dreading the encounter, continued to avoid Laurel. Unlike Indra, the tawny sister had always been a bit more brazen, and that aspect of her worried him; he did not fear whether or not he would be able to take her on in battle, he simply worried over what she might do. Whether that be attack or challenge him—both of which could lead to her departure, which he, surprisingly, did not want. Because despite her attitude he had grown to appreciate her, perhaps even for it, and could not allow himself to see the valley without her there to act weird in it.

Thus, it was time for him to stop avoiding and approach the issue head-on.

It was easy to pick up on her scent, and even easier to find her; Alexander, having no idea how heats actually worked or how long they lasted, had hoped that things would be back to normal by today. Of course, he was wrong, and this he realised the moment he started trailing after her. But it was too late to turn back now, he’d already made his decision and was going to follow through with it. So when he saw a familiar mass up ahead, he let out a low chuff with the hope of getting her attention.
