Something was wrong, he felt, when he arrived and Liffey instantly submitted. She must be hiding something, he thought. This surely was the culmination of all of the things that'd happened in the past months. He frowned in a glum and dark manner, though it was a subconscious gesture brought on by his thoughts, not something he realised he was doing.

When she said 'there's no easy way to tell you this', he knew that something was wrong. He knew that she was going to do or say something that'd make him sad and angry. He knew that she was going to say something that would prove everything that Alya had said to him, surely.. His heart pounded in his chest as he listened to the rest of it. He didn't understand. Of course he didn't. A family could be had here, as far as he was concerned. Or it could have, if they had asked, if they had thought it through before deciding rashly to leave.

He knew somewhere deep down that it may be for the best, considering the tense situations. It was a solution, in a way. "You could've had that here. Why do you need to leave for it? Prove yourself somewhere else all over again? For what? You haven't even really paid off the debts of the time Rannoch was fed and taken care of under our care. That's a promise you made." His frown continued, though his voice was fairly calm — and calculated — as he managed to keep his cool... for now. "Are you really going to break that promise?" There was a tone of incredulousness to his voice. He had never thralled either of them because he had liked them and Rannoch was Eshe's son... But now he was not so sure if that was a good decision. Not that he thought it would've kept them here now. She looked like her decision was made. Though unlike when Dhole'd told him to leave, a similar wolf with a similar out of the blue decision made, he didn't feel the anger and the need to pin her down. They were afraid of this and now it had happened. It was not as out of the blue as then. He just wanted them out of his life so he could focus on the wolves that deserved his love — his family.

But not before making her see what an immoral and fucking dumb decision she was making.

i figured in one of our next posts, we could incorporate Rannoch's howl for Liffey from this thread? :)
