mahler watched impassively as the incredibly expressive alarian went to shivering pieces once more. it was merely an observation, one that assessed the boy's character as rather unpredictable, but it curved the loner wolf's lips into a brief and barely tangible smile. he saw no reason why he in particular should be such a source of interest, but could ignore it no longer.
mahler gathered himself to his paws, pausing to allow the sylph the same, and set off at a lope. it was for no reason of interest, simply that he had laid down to rest, but had summarily not rested. thus there was no reason not to move, and he would not mind alarian's doting company. "how do you decide vhat is needed? or who is needy?" the man murmured when they had presumably found the same step.
