She actually gently nudged Batman to get him to crawl backward and snuggle into his usual hiding spot in the longer fur near her nape. She then cleared her throat and met Dinah’s eyes.

There were a thousand ways Towhee could handle this, though she decided to go the responsible route for once and bent down again to say, This sounds like something you ought to talk to your parents about, though she couldn’t resist having a little bit of fun as she added, Maybe God is just deaf.
