Hope this works :) @Amekaze and/or @Charon

The large multi-hued brute had travelled long and far for many a year, 4 summers had gone by since he was run from his previous pack. A scare mared his face along his left eye, the original wound was close to blinding him. It was sheer luck that he could still see through both orbs. His body was smaller than he was used to, the famine having reached him even though he had only been within he Teekon Wilds for a short time. His coat was dull from lack of nutrition, but the earthy hues were still noticable as grey, brown, tan, and black.

Satch had been crisscrossing through borders for days, trying the stay out of others territories, not wanting to be rude or ignorant. He had been following the Moonspear border for a few hours now, and he was getting rather frustrated, it seemed as though he was back tracking. The mountain air and the tangled woods must have been getting to him, for he was throughly lost. Satch wouldn't dare to enter their territory without permission so with a small sigh, he took a deep breath and let loose a deep howl, notifying the wolves within to his precense.

This time, it was the deepened tones of a distinctly masculine howl that diverted her from remarking the boundaries of the mountain. Since the howl hadn't really spoken of major urgency, she didn't dog the trail with any particular haste but instead wove her way there with a practiced step. It was a warm day, and she was content to stick to the shadows -- especially now that the greenery had regrown enough to really lend her the shade.

She zeroed in the second she could spot agouti shades on the mountainside. Her own posture had risen up befitting her status and she came to him directly, undeterred as she looked him over, from the scar on his eye to the way the colors of his coat whorled together. He was a sizable wolf and she could not smell any affiliations on him, which was curious enough on its own right. "Why have you come to my mountain?" she asked in lieu of greeting.

Satch could tell that these borders were well kept, and as such knew that someone would be around sooner or later to check on his howl. So he waited, sitting back on his hind legs, he was in great rush, infact he really had all day. He had no were to be, and no one to see, he was a loner and had been for many years.

A stranger approached, one with their banner held high and mighty, an alpha no doubt. Satch stood acknowledging the respect this she-wolf deserved seeing as this was her border. He would even go as far as to dip his head in greeting, hopefully trying not to offend this darkened female. "I apologize for the intrusion, Alpha. But I seem to have found myself lost at your border. I am a lone wolf of little contention, I had no desire to harm any of your own. I am in need of one of two things, directions or safe passage through your territory." He spoke with sincereity, since the bringing of his shame, he would not dare to lie to an alpha, such as the strong one that now stood before him.

She watched him carefully as he received her presence and for her standards, he carried on appropriately with proper deference to her here. The apology from the start did strike her as a bit unexpected, but his explanation followed soon enough, so she had plenty to go from already and take it all in stride. He was already proving to be straightforward enough for her and she quickly appreciated it.

"Directions to anywhere specific?" she asked first, wondering if he was looking for a place or someone in particular. She'd need to know just a bit more if she was going to point him in some better direction. Since she had been a part of the Teekon wilderness for a long time, the dark alpha did have a good concept of where most things were (excluding some of the terrain well southwest of here, of course). "And free passage on the mountain itself is limited to my pack only. It likely would not help you much anyway, even if it were -- behind this mountain directly to the west is very impassable." Amekaze added with a small nod in that general direction. He would have better luck curving around the mountain range itself instead of trying those slopes if that was the way he needed to go; it would be a deathwish for a traveler trying to cut straight through.

Specific? Satch had nothing specific to go off of, "I haven't been going anywhere specific in a long time I'm afraid stranger." He chuckled to himself a little, "And I haven't known anyone specific in the same amount of time." The Alpha continued, explaining that there was no passage in the direction that he was travelling. With a sigh he sat on his haunches, "Impassable you say? Well I guess I have wasted your time for no reason."

Slowly he nodded, "I have nothing but time to waste," He half heartedly chuckled, "And a life." He whispered to himself. "Well Alpha, can I atleast get a name for the road? You're the only company I've had since this scar first marked my face." He had a smile on his lips, but it didn't really reach his stormy dark blue eyes.

It was swiftly made clear that specifics were not for him. She listened as the implication of his longtime traveling was made known, and then, shook her head softly at him mentioning wasting her time; she had been on the borders anyway. If anything, he wouldn't be a loss on her behalf if he could prove marginally more fascinating than peeing on scenery -- not difficult. "There is always around the range itself, north or south. More north angles towards the coast," she mentioned, unsure if that would be a worthwhile landmark to him or not. South lead towards the moose swamps and beyond, which regrettably made her recall Ness for a fleeting second.

"I would not exactly call it a waste on my behalf," she smirked softly, although soon canted it in regards to him as she looked over his scar in greater detail. A fight, perhaps? It looked well-healed and not at all a recent addition to him. She glanced over the rest of him in turn, noting that for a loner, he appeared well enough. Travel did harden a wolf in ways unparalleled. "I am Amekaze. The mountain, Moonspear," she said with a quick gesture and a vaguely humored look. He was proving curious so far and difficult for her to pinpoint exactly why that was. "Is it a greater purpose that you have wandered so long for?" she asked. Had the scar been a catalyst of some kind to finally drive him to seclusion, she wondered.

Satch turned his head, north toward the coast, or south toward the unknown. "Well, I just came from the North. I suppose I'll head South." Satch shrugged, it was as good as a direction as any.

"Well Amekaze I appreciate you directions." He hesitated, coming to the following question from the Alpha, "A greater purpose? No, greater purpose, more like... redemption." He nodded to himself, shame marring his maw. "You don't happen to be handing out chances for redemption do you Alpha Amekaze?" He chuckled, it had been many years since he had spoken to an Alpha with this much freedome. He was intrigued by her, and he found that he wanted to get to know her and her kin. Although Satch shook his head, he was not worthy of pack. Atleasy he thought he wasn't, perhaps there was an air of change headed his way.

ooohg sorry for the holdup on this, i was away for the weekend and had less write time than i thought i would and now that i'm home, wifi is spotty ):<

Fair enough, she thought with a slow nod alongside his words. If he had no cause, then there was no harm in going south as she saw it. Seemed logical enough to her, and while much of her own urge to stray very far from the slopes of her home into fully uncharted lands had faded considerably, she always saw the appeal in simply experiencing new landscapes for the first time. "You are welcome," she quipped in return to this thanks, and listened on.

"Redemption? Perhaps in part, and depending on the details of course.. although just handing it out may be a bit generous of phrasing.." she exhaled thoughtfully, though with a lick of humor on her words despite the potential weight of the subject matter. She knew redemption came in many forms and some of them could be downright tricky, so it was because of this that her expression remained leveled and serious, albeit interested still -- all while wondering what the circumstances behind his need for redemption could potentially be. "But the mountain has been a fresh start to many, myself included." Thus her firm resolve when it came to guarding and cultivating its strength for all she was worth. It had treated her well and given her much more than she had ever anticipated.

There is potential went unsaid, although heavily implied in the spaces between her words. The mountain could uphold the worthy well, as proven by what they built here, who remained, and how they worked here. It was too soon to say with certainty, but perhaps he could fit well into that greater picture. She could see it happening, so left that out there for him to consider as his own pace.

no worries :) I am moving right now so my wifi is extremely spotty as well.

Satch looked up toward the mountain's peak. The landscape was beautiful, and the Alpha seemed intriguing, surely she would have recuited others with intriguing personalities. Perhaps stumbling on this place was not a coinsendense. Perhaps this was were he would find his redemption, he would always have his past follow him like a dark ominous cloud. But maybe he could help this pack grow in ways he could never have helped his natal pack. Maybe this is were he would share his experiences. He could feel the idea growing within him, and he was excited for the first time in a long while.

A small smile came to him, "I could use a fresh start Alpha. If you have an opening that is." Satch looked now toward the female, his tail swayed slightly as he thought of his possible future. Maybe he actually had a future.

"I do. For the strong, the capable. Wolves able to impress me," she smirked subtly and nodded in his direction. He had potential, and she had purpose, so it seemed quite ready to fall into place with just a few more elements added. Amekaze still knew little about him but what she did was not bad -- beasts of his type always did often interest her, despite knowing they could be difficult to instill the most lasting of loyalty in. Usually the Wilds called their wandering hearts back. She'd felt the return of their pull once too, before Charon had come into her life followed by this mountain. "I can respect those that had survived on their own for so long, and to no dire consequence." Thus, why she felt he may find a comfortable niche here. One that could benefit the Spear overall somehow.

"What may I call you? Besides 'a lone wolf of little contention'," Amekaze quipped.

Satch snorted slightly, "I'll do my best to impress Alpha." He grinned at her, he wasn't sure how to impress this woman, but would figure it out. He had learned a lot in his travels, and this was an asset, atleast he thought so.

"Ah! How rude of me... I am called Mensatch Kintamat, however I'm usually known as Satch." He dipped his head, introducing himself, "I am at your service Alpha Amekaze." He continued to smile at her.

Once more, she nodded. So he would do his best, he claimed, and he appeared to be in good spirits about this opportunity. She was interested to see what that would mean in the coming days and weeks. Amekaze hoped to get to know him better, and let his potential come to light in full -- above all, she just wanted to see it for herself. "Good," she said, having all but made it official by now. Her mind was made up.

His name was one that came to her in full, Mensatch Kintamat. There was a rhythm and an inflection to it she could not place, so she suspected it may be steeped in some sort of cultural influence somewhere from his history. It wasn't like any other names she knew. At least it wouldn't be hard to remember, so with that in mind, she matched it to sight and scent of him. "Then welcome, Satch." Amekaze offered with a dip of her snout. "Learn the mountain, protect it, provide. Those are the basics, more than that will find you.. more comfortable. There are several niches here and there to whatever suits you best." She gestured towards the path she was going to take next, suggesting he take to motion with her for the time being. "Any questions?" she asked, stepped forward up the trail.

He would give his all, there was no doubt about that. It flowed in his blood and through his bones, he always had to try his hardest, he always had to do his best. What could he say he was a perfectionist, with a humble personality. He adorned a small smile, one that most would never find him without. He would find his niche and thrive atop the mountains, at this moment there was no doubt as to his future. Satch was ready to leave an impact on this pack, he would redeem himself.

He took a step forward following his new leader, "I can't think of a single question, although I'll be sure to ask if I do." He was a very inquisitive wolf, always asking questions, however at the moment he merely took in the scenery around him. Absorbing his new home.

To her, now it was officially as good as settled and nothing further needing said. She moved in close to him for a quick breath and brushed her darker furs against his agouti ones before striding ahead. This would mark him as their newest recruit, but with a bit of time, his scent would take on that of the mountain. That was just one little head start that she could offer so not to concern her comrades.

She chuffed her quick farewells, and offered to have him accompany her until she parted ways, off to her next destination and for him to learn whatever he could of his new home.
