Moonspear stuck in her daydream

Charon smiled as Vela asked him about stories of his youth. It was nice to see her so inquisitive; it would help her grow and learn quick and would get her places. Charon remembered he used to ask whatever popped into his mind, too, when he was little. "Well, when I was little I had a friend called Osprey. She always told me stories about dragons and we'd go on adventures a lot. She told me a lot about dragons and trolls and all sort of magical fantasy creatures, and that's how I came up with Drake, who was my troll friend." He felt pretty embarrassed talking about it now, really, but at the time Drake had been good to him and for him, so he didn't think it would hurt to mention him now. Maybe Vela could use a friend too in the absence of her sister. Just for a little while, 'til she was grown up.

"I went on lots of adventures with Osprey and Drake. We'd go hunting for the story dragon and visit troll land..." He smiled softly as he looked back at Vela. "Maybe we could go on an adventure now, if you're up for it!" Charon wasn't really as imaginative as Osprey, well, not anymore. He'd become more and more of a realist with age, leaving his fantastical youth behind.
