All Welcome
Daru paused to look over the land with a calm expression, despite the turmoil inside her mind. She had been travelling for a long while, longer than she could remember. The chaotic destruction of her homeland had driven her west, further than she had ever gone before. Now, she could only hope that her travels would be over as she stood on the cusp of what seemed like a promising territory. She had smelled it for miles, the scent growing stronger as she approached. Now, standing on the cusp, she couldn't help the small quiver of excitement that ran down her spine. Her tail lifted hopefully as she threw back her head and howled. The song was joyful and excited, full of hope and warmth. It was also searching as she called out to any of the pack members.

instead of going home, she had backtracked to the territory before where she and alexander had fought off the trio of wolves, where he had wheeled around.

it smelled of pack.  she wondered briefly if her pack and this pack were the same, if they were offshoots of each other, or if they were different.  and if it was the latter, why were they settled so close?

she puts her mind at ease for now.  wondering won't help.  a call rings through the air and she makes her way towards it more out of curiosity than anything, being so close to home.  slowly, she ghosts out towards the wolf, heterochromatic eyes meeting another mismatched pair as she chuffs.

Daru had waited for a short while before she finally heard the sound of anothers footsteps. She scanned the area around her until she caught the form of another wolf. Her tail waived in a friendly manner as a warm smile broke out over her face. "Hello there!" She spoke to the other wolf in a friendly tone, hoping to make a good impression. To Daru, that first meeting was always the most important. It set the tone for the rest of the relationship, and it could set it in either direction. Her two toned gaze studied the other wolf, taking note of any cues they might give off. "I'm new to the area. Are you the owners of these lands?"

there was that word again, the one that the crick-necked child had used upon her entrance to the blackfeather woods.  the rest of the girl's vocalizations go unnoticed.  when the wind carried her scent she realized that the woman was alone, and even this far from home — this close to another pack's borders — her tail raises an inch.

she pushes forward, her heterochromatic gaze meeting up with the mismatched eyes of the stranger, dipping into a tentative play-bow.
