He remained a minute or two longer, but soon enough, he found himself shivering uncontrollably. Though he didn't yet feel clean, the male pulled himself from the creek and shook grit and water from his pelt as he stumbled onto the shore. His legs felt numb and cumbersome, though whether it was from his stupid stunt or the cold was anyone's guess. Grayday himself did not dwell on this, but lumbered to the tall grasses and plopped himself down among the flowers to roll around a bit more. When the sun and his movements had warmed him enough, he stood once more and "looked" around, though he sensed more through his nose than his eyes.

With a dissatisfied snort, he turned in the direction that Adeline had come from and retreated toward, wondering what she was up to. He hadn't seen as much of her as he would have liked, though it was more his own fault than anyone else's. He'd been avoiding her, lately. It was too difficult to face her when he knew she'd never wanted to come in the first place. But they were frozen here, on these peaceful hills, and Grayday knew that he could not avoid the girl forever. It would be - perhaps - even more cruel than dragging her along in the first place.

Quietly, the silvered male padded after her, making more of an effort to move stealthily than to catch up. Thus, it was several long minutes before he finally caught sight of her after cresting one of the territory's treacherous hills. Grayday stopped and stared at her dull form, allowing himself (for the first time since the beginning of this damnable journey) to see the sorrow and listlessness that now hung about his girl.

"I've done you wrong," he sighed, voice too soft and too far for anyone but himself to hear. Though he'd meant to seek her out and speak to her, the male laid down on his belly and continued to watch.
