When Rannoch had inquired about fatherhood, he had not connected Galaxy's death to the subject matter. This had been naive of Rannoch, and he regretted the question the moment that his Alpha began to respond. As Charon elaborated, Rannoch dropped his posture and flattened his ears, knowing that he wasn't in the most favorable position at the moment. 

"I understand," he replied with a nod, "A-And I'm sorry to bring that question up, that really was in poor taste on my end." Rannoch frowned then, unable to mask his shame.
