Like Cassiopeia, the scent of rabbit had lead Rannoch to a less-trodden trail. Following the smell, he nosed his way through the snow-covered underbrush. It had been some time since Rannoch had sought small game, and he wasn't entirely confident that this hunt would lead to success. His stomach gurgled suddenly at the thought of fresh meat, and Rannoch paused to look it his gut before continuing along; an empty stomach would not suit him well on this hunt but, he had no other options.

Suddenly, laced amongst the fire-kissed spice of the woods came a scent that unsettled Rannoch— wolf blood. His hunger was instantly disregarded, and Rannoch swung his head in the direction which it had wafted from. He tiptoed closer to where Cassiopeia had stalked away from

In time, Rannoch spotted her figure in the distance. He paused and cupped his ears forward as he called out to her, "Hey, are you okay?"
a crime so old as the sky and bone
he came untied, solid as a stone
all is almost lost and it starts to show
