for @Tundra! also a Tongue Over Teeth quest thread.
wintersbane does not stray too far from blackfeather woods. out of habit now than the feeling of necessity. he enjoys the freedom to venture out of his home's borders without the constant questioning of abandonment. it'd be righteous if it were ever to come up — he's got quite a reputation for it. reputation or no, he has no desire to abandon blackfeather woods a second time. as he nears his second year of life, his peak of maturity already reached, he desires other things. there is always that ambition for control but with the surprising discovery that he actually likes children has opened his eyes to his own personal development. a lot of things changed as that epiphany hit him.
today, he only ventures as far as the greatwater lake, drawn into the territory by it's trees, the numerous scent trails of wildlife and it's namesake. he follows the scent trail of a mother doe and her young idly but branches off at a fork in the path, forsaking the prey. he isn't hungry and a hunt would only serve to distract him from his thoughts as he mulls over them. some of them are personal and others are more pack-centric — especially as he ponders whether greatwater lake would remain vast with wildlife even in the harshest months of the winter.
wintersbane pauses at the bank of the lake and bows his head to lap at the chilled water as he reaches it, ears alert for any sign of approach.

it had been decided that for now the lake would be where she resided. this aimless rambling back and forth across the flatlands was growing unhealthy so she was working on confining herself to a set space. it wasn't exactly going all too well. she lay now on her side, pebbles digging uncomfortably into her ribs but she seems to remain unphased as she continues to stay stretched along the shore- each heavy exhale sending ripples danching across the water's smooth surface.
things had seemed to be just tumbling downhill within the dark confines of the woman's mind, composed demanour doing no justice to the chaos that took place within. the roar just seemed to grow louder and louder each day and nothing she could do would shut it the fuck up. she felt more trapped now than she had "before" and the restless ache in her bones seemed almost painful. alas she spent her days focusing on anything but the impatient demands of her confused mind, hearing its desperate plea to keep moving and therefore deciding to restrict herself further by choosing a set place to remain.
she had always been intelligent and she knew well that to go travelling off into unfamiliar territory with winters cruel grasp so close would be suicide, best to lay low and keep to what she knew - and join a damn pack. although her mind remained more dominant on that last point, skipping past the most logical decision as if it were poisionous. in reality somewhere deep down there was a deep fear to put her trust in another group of wolves after what had happened last time although she'd never admit such a thing even to herself. she always stuck strictly to the belief that fear was stupid- being afraid of something got you nowhere and simply acted as if this alone was enough to convince herself to never experience it.
a sound not too far off rescues her from her own sharp clutches, ears twitching as she cranes her neck slightly to get a better look. she watches on as a brute steps over to the edge of the lake further down the bank, leaning over to lap at the water. she'd been easily concealed by the long growing rushes and shrubery that still remained alongside the bank but felt no need to hide and instead gathered her paws beneath her as she straightened up into a standing position. she'd grunt slightly- stretching out each stiff limb leisurely- feeling no need to speak as the brute would have to really be away with the fairies to not notice her now. she remained fully alert should anything he do seem dodgy but for now would stay neutral- she was in no mood to get rowdy with someone.

mid-drink is when he realizes he was not as alone as he'd first perceived himself to be. his lapping slows to a small, quieter dip of his tongue, determined not to let the presence of the stranger — a cream drop against the darkened pebbles in the nearby distance — locked in his peripheral vision disrupt his drink. he laps at the water until his thirst is sated and only then does the tundrian lift his head to look at her in full. he draws his salmon pink tongue across his jowls to collect the stray droplets of water, swiping them from the furs of his chin. glacial gaze takes her in with cool amusement twisting at the corners of his lips into a smirk. typically, most wolves let out some sort of chuff to initiate basic niceties.
she does not offer him that and he's amused by the contemplation of how long they would stand this distance from one another having a staring contest. "can i help you with something?" wintersbane inquires of her out loud, breaking the silence that lingers in the distance between them. his amusement lingers but curiosity is always stronger and wintersbane has never been one to curb his own curiosity — despite how frequently he'll attempt to side-step the curiosity of others.

as expected his gaze does find its way to her without aid and he returns her silence with his own wordless acknowledgement. shards of ice meet her steady gaze- amusement seeming to swirl in their depths as a slight smirk creeps along his jaws. at this she allows a small smile to grace her own features- the nature would almost appear sweet would it not be for the almost alarming contrast of such an expression paired with such bottomless, doll-like eyes.
the world seems to almot stand still for a few moment as silence does its little dance in the space between them- even the gentle lapping of the lake seeming to halt as it waits for the next breeze to help pull it back to the shore. her head tilts slightly to the side in what could be a questioning manner but of course it's always hard to tell with her. nevertheless he speaks anyway- shattering the thickening silence just as a breeze tears its way across the land and the world resumes- lake lapping at the smooth pebbles and remaining leaves rustling as they whisper endless secrets to each other. she inhales the crisp air deeply- imensely enjoying being around trees again even if it wasn't quite the same as being in completely forested terrain like she was used to. the neverending flatness she'd been wandering around had been on the verge of really pushing her the last little bit of the way into the depths of insanity.
she moves forward idly- paws drifting with a gracefulness that certainly contributed to her phantom-like look. her smile remains perfectly in place /perhaps too perfectly/ as she gives her head a small shake. "not at all i was simply resting over there" her tail flicks vageuly over to where she'd moved from "and you just caught my attention" she's close enough now to catch his scent with a mere inhale and she cannot deny the sudden interest to flicker within her upon realising where he came from. "i seem to keep coming across you forest wolves" she murmurs, smile melting away as her usual stoic expression shines through the act, however her gaze becomes more pressing as she studies him further. unsurprisingly taller than her although definitely younger however his gaze is definitely as mature as any wolf she'd met older than him. nothing more is said as she watches him- her curiosity perhaps only evident through the building intensity of her stare as the emotion itself remains hidden behind the shadows of her night coloured orbs.

she responds to his inquiry with a 'not at all'. the tundrian lets out a small noise in the back of his throat, tail flicking against his hocks. and gives an errant nod of his head when she continues by telling him that he caught her attention. "i've been known to do that." he murmurs in acceptance of her words, vain as ever. he smirks, a slow and perhaps wicked thing ...but his flirtations are shallow. there is one that has already caught his eye and flirtation for wintersbane does not always equal genuine interest ( and yikes that sounds so cruel ).
his ear flickers and his attention perks in earnest now as she mentions that he is not the first of blackfeather she's come across. he is silent for a moment, contemplating her words. "oh?" he inquires, wondering if the daedra have given him an opportunity to recruit. ...maybe, this time, he might be successful. "maybe it's a sign." he suggests idly, gauging her reaction to the possibility of being recruited. it's true that blackfeather woods isn't exactly hurting for wolves at the moment ...but winter would soon be upon them and extra capable bodies would help. not to mention, there's a bit of chipped pride where his past attempts had failed whether out of their reputation ruining it before he even had a chance or the wolf in question did not feel like they'd be a good fit ( though the latter he certainly respected more than the first ).

a brow raises in his direction at the cocky sentence to emit from the dark brute, stated as casually as if discussing the weather. however although she allows a slight smile to waver along her creamy jaws it's clear that her attention is elsewhere as her dark gaze shifts to the calm lapping of the lake against its pebbly shore. she can feel his gaze grow more focused on her after her last murmured statement and although she'd been so focused on him only moments before, she struggles to glance his way as her mind battles away with itself and she gazes stonily at the water as if her life depends on it.
at his words a slight shiver dances along her spine- more likely to be caused by the particularly bitter breeze to cut through even her thick pelt at that exact moment but the coincidence is amusing in itself. of course he awaits a reaction and her skin prickles uneasily under his watchful gaze- too aware that her next reaction is vital and not liking the pressure at all. a sign? her brain echoes back, could it be? she had never been one to pay any attention to things such a fate or signs, being quite the realist but really that is quite besides the point. winter was closing in fast and she needed a home as much as her brain liked to remain in denial and try covince herself that she'd do fine by herself. she traces a claw along the soft dirt idly, brows furrowed in thought. it was such a rare sight and of course he would not even recognise quite how rare what he was experiencing was- although it was impossible to gauge what kind of thoughts ran behind such shadowed orbs, the fact that she was thinking was visible through her features. perhaps she was just so tired but the permanently stoic expression that she'd been so well known for had been breaking down little by little ever since she'd escaped to here.
she finally inhales steadily and fixes him with unwavering doll-like eyes. the only wolves she'd come across and had any interest in had been the wolves from those woods- they tended to stand out from most other passerby's but the vibe she'd gotten from them would perhaps be better to fit in with. "i've met your leader" she allows, the words short and clipped as she gazes right into his icy eyes. a few more moments of silence slip by and she lets a sigh escape from tense jaws- she'd only ever joined a pack once and...well it had changed her perspective on the world quite a bit. the decision is made with an inner hesitation as she breathes out "i've been looking for somewhere to perhaps call home" that's where she leaves it, ready to let him continue based on her train of thought.

wintersbane can see she is in deep thought as she processes his words about signs. at one point in his life, the tundrian would have never thought that he'd believe so vehemently in the dark daedra of the woods or that he'd find himself within their ranks again. but he does and he is. he is no priest and he will not be so pretentious as to claim that he knows what the gods want but after a failed attempts prior to recruit he sees an opportunity in the here and now that he doesn't intend to let slip past. if this attempt fails ...well then he tried but he has to at least put in the effort to be able to claim that he gave it a shot.
wintersbane looks at her expectantly as her gaze settles upon him unwaveringly, an upwards tilt of his chin given as she informs him that she's met their leader.

the dark master or the listener?he inquires. he is more familiar with the dark priestess than he is the man that rules them all; being smitten with her aside he has spent more time in her presence over all.
what do you know of our woods?the tundrian inquires. starting at what she knows and going from there seems like the best place to start to him.
October 30, 2018, 07:09 PM
she tilts her head very slightly to the side at the inquiry to slip from the brute's jaws. she frowns slightly, unfamiliar with the titles but presuming they must be the the leader rank's custom names. "the man" is all she murmurs, voice soft as her jaw continues to clench uneasily. fuck was she tense, like she was always on the alert but this was a bit much even for her.
however she remains still and /somewhat/ certain as her piercing gaze fails to give way to the increasing pressure in the back of her mind. 'what do you know of our woods?' she remains completely statue-like for the next few moments as her mind mulls carefully over the question. really she knew very little about them -that sounds familiar- but it wasn't uncommon for wolves to join packs they didn't know everything about, right?
"not a whole lot" she admits, their leader hadn't been ready to spill the pack's secrets or anything and the other man she'd met from their ranks...well chatting hadn't really featured a whole lot in that interaction had it. her teeth grit further before she's forced to loosen her jaw to continue speaking. "i've always been more comfortable in forested terrain hence the initial interest in a pack that lived in the only proper forest i've seen since finding these flatlands" distaste is slightly noticeable in her otherwise monotone voice when tossing out 'flatlands', not caring to hide her disliking for the constant open spaces. "your pack has featured more to me than any others and" she stops, not sure how to word what she wants to say. always being a wolf of little words she wasn't exactly the most skilled at conversation. "well they're the only wolves that haven't left me with a headache and reminded me exactly why i don't go looking for company" she finishes wryly.
she continues to trace a small creamy paw through the soft dirt, otherwise completely still. if she didn't spit it out now she never would, already she could feel her mind retreating uneasily and so "look i need a place to stay, i've trained to be a soldier so i'm no waste of space" somehow her eyes manage to grow even harder with that final statement, it was the first time she'd referred to herself as a soldier aloud since she'd left the official rank. how it made her feel she wasn't exactly sure but she was set on one thing, she was going to join this damn pack today.

@Tundra slight pp; i hope that's ok!
the man.
kove.
wintersbane gives a nod of acknowledgement to confirm that he knows exactly who she speaks of; whilst his glacial gaze assess her a second time, wondering why kove hadn't tried to recruit her himself. perhaps he had and perhaps she had denied it.
her response to his secondary inquiry does not inspire surprise within wintersbane. secrecy is sort of their thing in blackfeather woods and all are warned not to be overly forthcoming with information. there is a very vague and general standard and from there, well that depended upon the interest of the potential recruit and what they'd already heard. most wolves have heard something or other about blackfeather woods even if in passing. a warning, usually. stay clear of the dark woods. dark magicks, war and death. blood and bone. some of it true and some of it idealistic fantasies that just ...work well.
an amused noise presses forth from wintersbane's throat. not quite a snort. not quite a laugh; but amused nevertheless.
most packs tend to have that effect.but of course when one had secrets that they coveted and guarded with obsessive like tendencies no they weren't liable to leave anyone with a headache.
a soldier, hm?wintersbane regards her as a doctore might size up a new recruit. sithis and mephala have guided them together and she states her interest in ...not such a direct way but wintersbane is versed in reading between lines and what goes unsaid and her words translate as interest to him nevertheless.
it is not my call to make, the tundrian admits.
come;follows the quiet command, as he gestures towards the dark woods in the distance. they are not far but he leads her to the borders all the same, pausing to glimpse at her to judge her reaction to it's decorations of skulls and rotting corpses. a feeling of home resounds strongly within his chest as he takes a few steps closer, gesturing for her to stay put.
his head tips back and lets out a call for @Relmyna, requesting her presence and her judgement of the blackfeather potential.

she's vaguely curious as to what thoughts run behind the pressing gaze of her company as he continues to observe her unwaveringly. what does she look like to him? she knows that first glance can give you the entirely wrong impression- small white fluffy wolf, hazel eyes, rounded ears and a lil' black button nose didn't exactly scream threatening. however upon closer inspection the details of where her creamy pelt was split by cruel scars and muscles rippling beneath becamse visible along with her eerily phantom like movements and of course her eyes- appearing more black than brown and as void as ever. but what did that mean to a wolf trying to decide if she were a potential addition to their pack? would they have preferred the possibility or were they happy with the reality? does it even matter? she shoots the question at herself with a surprising amount of aggression, aware that her mind is simply stalling and growing impatient with it.
a delicate arch of her brow is thrown his way at the noise of amusement to emit from his form. her gaze remains completely attached to his as she easily allows a smile to grace her features. "i prefer the dark brooding types" the smirk lingers at the exagerrated reference to the three rather stoic men she'd met so far from the pack. her tail swishes lightly across the long grasses as he repeats her statement and she finds it even stranger to hear a stranger from these lands to refer to her as something that had played such a big part of her past. however none of this is betrayed in her calm demanour as she simply nods and lets out a murmured "yes" expression returning to its serious state as she offers no elaboration.
at this he quite abruptly goes to leave- ordering her to follow. her expression doesn't change in the slightest as she follows wordlessly although she feels her stomach tense with a slight unease. she has to admit though, as the trees grow looming with their nearness she has to resist the inner urge to go running right into their depths and away from these horrid bare flatlands but forces herself to remain put when the man stops- letting out a call for assistance. the decorations don't go unnoticed and she has to resist the urge to let out an amused snort at the display lest it offended him. instead she looked past the decor and into the darkness of the thickly packed trunks- grateful for how the tug of her very soul to such terrain helped drown out her uncertainty to pledging herself to yet another group of canines.

she was beyond caring; relmyna had perhaps forgone her true duty to blackfeather and moved beyond to the things she felt required her attention. they were the altar, the gods that relmyna was beginning to believe all but she had forsaken. the gods will provide the gods will provide; she told herself that in a breathless silence, plodding along the trail that her paws had beaten around the sacred place.
wintersbane's voice rose in a confident dirge, and the listener lifted her muzzle as she paused, identifying the tone as one of summoning. she was reluctant; her gaze swung between the direction of the yearling and the altar. a deep breath; relmyna steadied herself on the conception that she would return, and drew herself into a quick lope.
he was not alone; a lovely cream-colored thing was with the man, sloe-eyed and hale. the sight of her sent through the ageing wolfess a stab of jealousy, one she shook aside in lieu of a warm look leveled at the newcomer. wintersbane would explain, she was sure, free to look over the perhaps potential joiner in inspection for weaknesses.

wintersbane's left ear swivels and flicks at her comment of preferring the dark and brooding type and lets out a low chuckle.
then you're in for a treat.he remarks cheekily. a silence settles between them as they wait, though the listener does not keep them waiting for long. she soon appears from the shadows of the dark woods and wintersbane draws in a breath and steels his shoulders upon her approach.
listener,he murmurs her title like a low prayer and dips his head submissively to her before he reorients himself so that both listener and potential recruit are in his line of sight.
this is...,it as he goes to make the introductions that the gamma realizes they'd never exchanged names. this was not an uncommon thing for wintersbane. he's so used to operating in a level of shadow that he doesn't often give his name ...unless it crops up. sometimes wolves notice and sometimes they do not. wintersbane's glacial gaze cuts to the young pale woman the listener inspects, figuring she could input her own name.
she tells me she is a soldier and assures me she is not a waste of space.a small quip, a return of her own words tinted with the amusement that threatens to flicker across wintersbane's expression.
apparently, i am not the first of our pack she's ran into. she's met the dark master before.it's still curious to wintersbane...why two others have failed to bring her into their fold. surely, mephala and sithis have meant for her to join their ranks if she's met three of them now; but he's learned not to question the gods ...though whether it's the fear of invoking their wrath or relmyna's he can't truthfully say.

not that his 'in for a treat' remark was surprising or anything but it left tundra sighing internally nevertheless. because of course she would find herself instantly drawn to possibly the only pack in these lands that would be happy to call themselves dark, she claimed to be smart but sometimes she really was a damn idiot. there was no going back now anyway and as much as she would prefer not to admit it, an undeniable curiosity left her not quite wanting to leave. they're not left sitting in silence for long before a woman steps out from the shadows- instantly catching tundra's full attention for it was the first fae she'd seen from this pack and the brute's obvious change in attitude upon being in her presence meant that she commanded respect- something that both pleased and interested her.
her own head dips in a silent greeting of respect, ears twitching slightly at what her escort addresses her as. 'listener'. which would make the man she'd met the dark master then. she levels her dark gaze as the brute goes to introduce her only to pull up short for they hadn't exhchanged names. this wasn't exactly weird for tundra but she did wonder if it was something one tended to announce if wanting to join somewhere, honestly she'd just never even thought to. "tundra" she states now, directing it at the woman who also had the attention of her gaze. it was quite evident that the older woman had not lived an easy life but being no newcomer to such appearances, tundra did not find herself pulling away or wincing at the sight. in fact it actually heightened her respect and attraction to the listener.
she lets the man continue to speak for her since he seems quite eager to, having no problem with it as it was all true. he confirms her assumption of the brute she'd met before being the dark master and of course there was the other one...san interaction she completely refused to dwell on especially now of all times. "he is correct" is all she murmurs, she found no need to elaborate on anything he'd said and would remain silent until asked otherwise. the pale woman had yet to speak but really that wasn't something odd to her being a being of little words herself- in fact she'd hardly even noticed the silence of the other until the large wolf beside her finished his own talking. for now she simply waited, gaze lingering on the cool toned gaze of the fae however making sure her eyes had lost any intensity the would suggest a challenge. she had no want for such a thing.

kove kove kove
where was kove?
why did he hide himself away?
the dark master existed in the shadows, but it was enough for relmyna that this beautiful creature had beheld the leader of blackfeather. an omen, perhaps — glad tidings where they had been granted only darkness for some time. a soldier, succinct, with a ferocity beneath the pale fur that existed to the eye if one was searching for it. a good find; she looked to wintersbane then, her eyes lingering on the savage creature with an expression that held only him for a long moment.
i am relmyna, the listener offered to tundra. recent events had taught her to be wary of those who called blackfeather home, but it would befit her to take on a loyalist, perhaps. her own fealty was to the forest, not to whoever was the dark master or mistress; she wished wolves to join them who would feel the same. how long have you wandered?

tundra, she introduces herself as.
wintersbane's brow quirks if only because he is a tundrian and he never expected 'tundra' to be anyone's name. does she hail from the same lands as the ansbjørn's? or a different tundra? or, he considers, not at all?
granted, now is not the time to seek answers for these questions, he reminds himself. perhaps there would be time for it later. with his questions tucked safely, his attention turns back to relmyna as she introduces herself to the blackfeather potential he has brought her. there is nothing more for wintersbane to do here or say, he considers. the fate of the blackfeather hopeful lays now between the listener and tundra herself; yet, still, wintersbane lingers, stalwart as usual nevertheless.

dark eyes never wavered as she felt the woman's inspectful gaze sweep her over. her jaw remained set in silence and the expression upon her face was as nonchalent as ever. the three stood there for a few moments-not a single word spoken between them. tundra watched as the..listener../which she guessed must be some sort of leader rank? she evidently had a lot to learn about these mysterious wolves/ took her main focus and transferred it to the brute for another few moments before appearing satisfied.
she would then speak, but no 'speak' was incorrect as although her jaws opened to form the words- sound did not reach her rounded ears. luckily, times where a single sound could have resulted in death had left tundra as no stranger to mouthing. however she could not deny the slight curiosity as to whether she was stuck that way due to some tragedy or was it a choice? the scarring would certainly suggest the former but she could not know for definite. it leaves her drawn to this woman, an odd thing to perhaps feel drawn to but tundra had never been a good representative of normalcy.
relmyna.. she wonders for a moment if the wolves of these woods ever called her by her name or did they simply refer to her as 'listener' like the young man had when first arriving in her presence. however now's not the time to be asking questions and so tundra simply dips her head in acknowledgement to the introduction. "pleasure to meet you..relmyna" she hadn't expected to speak at all and especially not to go as far as to throw the pale woman's name in too but she'd felt a want to hear it aloud and so from her own mouth would have to suffice. watchful eyes remained fixed on the other as she watches for any sort of reaction.
she rolls her shoulders back as she takes in the question directed her way. how long had she wandered? it was hard to tell really. a slight sigh slips from her form as she holds in the need to ask why? like okay she knew that they didn't want to just take in random wolves here and there for who knew who you could end up with and so they had to ask a few questions but she couldn't help but feel aware as to how at this moment she didn't owe them an entire explanation of her life. nevertheless this question in particular wasn't bad or anything it just left her wary as to what could be asked after. "i came upon these lands in late summer, before that it's...hard to tell. i'd guess a few months" her tail tip twitches slightly where it rests low to the ground but that's the only sign of her uneasiness, siding that she's as statuesque as ever.

a smile. the pleasure is mine. relmyna noted the discomfort evident in the plushly-furred body, and relaxed her own stance in response. wintersbane had given the listener what info she needed; tundra was a wanderer, but not a taker of things. relmyna had little cause to worry, therefore; even if the newcomer left them in the spring, her strength would be an asset through the colder months.
truth be told, perhaps the listener was far softer than recommended in terms of border-running, but she had no inspiration to be cruel or hard. a glance to wintersbane; relmyna stepped aside. if you will have blackfeather, we shall have you, came her gentle mouthing. a wolf brought by the silver-cloaked northerner already held esteem in the listener's eyes — such was the perk of having been found by wintersbane.

the interaction between tundra and relmyna goes well and superbia swells beneath wintersbane's breast unabated. he tries to temper it but there is a certain high to having his first successful recruitment. it brings with it a certain feeling of invincibility; that he could charm anyone to join should he put effort towards it. admittedly, he'd gotten lucky. she was already considering it when their paths crossed and though he is still curious as to why the dark master himself did not draw her into their fold — for who is more persuasive than the leader of them all? if used right power is an attractive lure in and of itself — wintersbane will ( gladly ) take the credit for himself.
if you have other matters to attend to, i can give her the tour, wintersbane offers, gaze shifting and focusing on relmyna. in the end, he wouldn't squabble over it. he could give the tour, or the listener herself could in stead, if she wanted.

despite the ever-lingering unease at handing herself over to a group after how it had played out in the past, she has to admit something about relmyna's presence leaves her feeling a strange sense of calm. a soft but truly genuine smile graces her own features at the returned words and her head dips slightly. she's quite pleased albeit slightly surprised as to how well the whole situation seems to be playing out for the.../she supposes kindness is the right word/ that she's met with isn't exactly what she'd been expecting. dark eyes watch as the woman glances quickly to the man beside her before stepping aside. deep within her heartbeat picks up ever so slightly at the direct path into the shelter of the darkened forest suddenly exposed to her. she forces her fixated eyes to shift to where the listener now stands as she gives her final verdict. she exhales quietly- a breath she hadn't even been aware of holding escaping desperately into the cooling air. and it's as simple as that, with that simple mouthing she has tied herself to this forest and the wolves that reside within.
blackfeather...it's a surprise to realise this is in fact the first time she's heard the actual name of the pack. she'd grown so accustomed to simply referring to them as the 'forest wolves' it hadn't even occured to her to seek a name. "thank you, i will make sure it's not a decision you regret" a strong promise to make perhaps and could she really keep true to her word? only time can truly tell. the man speaks from her side and she allows her gaze to focus on him for the first time since relmyna had joined them. a soft glimmer of amusement passes her features at what looked to be a prideful sort of...happiness /maybe? she still struggles slightly in the world of positive emotions/ that he seems to be just barely containing. she glances back to the pale fae, silent as she awaits her reponse. honestly she would've been just as happy to melt off into the woods and see what happens but she also knew it wasn't the smartest line of thought and a tour would have her knowing much more much quicker.

tundra accepted, and relmyna too felt a sense of relaxation drift over her. it was not only good to have one within the fold: the she-wolf was a potential member of the dark brotherhood, which blackfeather needed now more than ever. wintersbane's voice murmured; she looked to him, where he flanked tundra; the beauty of them together, even strangers as they were, made her heart ache with something deep and inexplicable.
yes. go with him, the listener murmured in her soundless way, her gaze warm upon the pair. she would only be a hindrance with her muted nature; his confident step and gentle baritone would be what tundra needed to settle. and so she waited for them to pass her, intending not to re-enter the forest for the time being; she would drift along the borders instead.

i'll go ahead and conclude + archive with my post. :-)
tundra promises that the listener's decision to bring her into their fold is not one she'll regret. thus far, wintersbane has no reason not to believe the newest conscript's words. nevertheless, time and the gods, he suspects, will tell. they always do. the listener sends them off and wintersbane turns his focus from his leader to the newest member of blackfeather woods.
come.is his soft command as he turns and heads into the territory, making a mental map of all the important places to show her.
