The riveting conversation that he had had with Charon had left Rannoch fatigued. As a result of this state, Rannoch was easy to direct. His eyes moved as Lyra motioned to the pile of herbs and he smiled weakly. "Thanks," he replied, unable to adequately thank her for her efforts. Despite his wanting to consume the medicine, Rannoch could not muster the energy to do so. Instead, he looked at them longingly before his attention was stolen once more.

"No sorry," he assured her with a stiff twitch of his tail. Words were hard, he was quickly learning, and all he wanted to do was go back to sleep. His body hurt, his eyelids drooped, and yet, he fought sleep in favor of keeping company with Lyra. As tiring as conversing had been historically in his awakened state, Rannoch thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it and wanted to do so for as long as he physically could.

Her remark about Charon caused his brows to lift and at a snail's pace, he replied, "No, good," a shallow yawn divided his thoughts, "he accepted me."
a crime so old as the sky and bone
he came untied, solid as a stone
all is almost lost and it starts to show
