Once more he comes across another scented border. And just after the place among the cliffs. He rarely heard of neighboring packs, except for the one by Easthollow. Beyond the borders he remained, then shot up a howl for anyone willing to answer to it, calling for an audience. He wondered once more, what kind of wolves would he encounter this time.

It was just one thing after another for Grimnismal. Their small pack on the strand hadn't done anything to instigate disrespect thus far (Caiaphas' visit to Blackfeather Woods, she was unaware of), but there had been two trespassers in as many weeks, and several wolves at their borders that seemed to think it was acceptable to show up and show only a shred of respectful decency. A few weeks ago Wylla had been mellow as could be, if not highly judgmental, as a leader; now she was simply fed up.

So when Engel's call for attention rose over the strand, she was already in a foul mood, wondering why wolves thought it was okay to just show up and demand entry like they were owed something. Ironically, that had been Wylla's very mindset as a lone wolf, but power went rapidly to her head, and the resultant beast was about ten times as harsh and off-putting as Wylla had ever been before.

Engel didn't get any nice smiles, words of welcome or indications that his presence was wanted when Wylla emerged from the forest. Instead, he got a flash of her teeth and an impatient growl of, "what do you want?"

Engel spotted a wolf coming his way and in the short time he had he corrected his stance a bit, trying to look harmless and respectful. Then he flashed a smile, which quickly disappeared as his ears pinned back at the flash of teeth. "Uhhh....hey" he finally managed. Then he quickly cleared his throat.

"Name's Engel, I-I come from another coastal pack...it's uh, it's that way" he added, pointing his nose in the direction of where Ironsea was to be. "I was sent to find other coastal packs...see what was up, see who's friendly..." Engel was not too sure about here.

Another pain in the ass come up the coast to get in Grimnismal's face? Greaaat. Wylla listened boredly as Engel introduced himself. Truth be told, she wasn't really concerned with neighbours. There were wolves right up the cliff, if reports were to be believed, but she didn't care much about them either. They were welcome to swan dive off the cliffs to invade Grimnismal all they wanted; they would find naught but unyielding sand, much like Engel was meeting with Wylla's unyielding attitude.

"Cool story, I don't care," she said with a jab of her nose in the direction he'd come from. "Beat it."

Engel paused. He was quite stunned by the reaction he got from the other wolf. But, if that was how it was to be...He shrugged. He did not wish to start anything. "Well...very well...go on with your business Miss...Lady." He had not gotten her name, so really all he could call her by was Lady. Then he started on his way, blinking as if shocked by the greeting.

Sorry that Grimnismal's not friendly and sorry for the super short thread LOL!

She watched him wickedly as he departed, tail twitching at her hocks with feline irritation. Perhaps if there hadn't been so many border incidents and wolves showing up wanting to join that objectified their members or made stupid mistakes, Wylla would have been more amenable. As it was, she was a piss poor leader with a piss poor attitude, and what she'd said was true. She didn't give a damn about her neighbours, north or south, as long as they left her alone.

With that concluded and Engel on his way, Wylla melted back into the shadows, setting a course for the grotto.
