Charon's life story was so very different from Wraen's and she was torn between feeling sorry for his early losses and the fact that she had never fully appreciated her luck in having both of her parents and both siblings present during her first year of life. Apart from Osprey's waxing and waning bouts of ill health and depression, there had been no other clouds in her sunny childhood. To think that there were so many more wolves like Charon, who met tragedy early in life.
