It was unbelievable, how your whole life could change just in a matter of seconds. After Terance had left Wraen to do all of the important talks, she remained standing next to her den, thinking. She was neither heart-broken, nor felt guilty about the decision to leave Moonspear behind. Sure she was grateful that Charon had honored her mother's wish and had let them join the pack, and in a way she had rebuilt her life from the foundations too. But unlike Terance she did not owe the changes that came with maturing and growing up to the wolves, who lived here. She had always been her own person.

She wondered, whether there were any wolves she would want to meet in person just before she walked through the door and did not return. Gannet came to her mind, but aside for being good acquaintances and mutual liking of each other, there were no deeper bonds. Bernard - the sweet wolf-dog, who had been looking for companionship and new purpose in life. She had a feeling that - maybe - if she asked him, he would follow her, but would it be fair to uproot him so soon after joining and lead him into the unknown? No.

She thought of Hydra - the tough, loyal and self-righteous Beta. Intimidating and yet capable of such cordiality to those she held dear. Her love was both a gift and a curse, because in the name of it she was capable of doing horrible things. Wraen tried to imagine, what would she say to her, if they met now, but there was nothing she could say to make things right and nothing the Ostrega girl could tell her to refrain her from leaving. The same for Charon - somehow she had always had a feeling that, when they met he was seeing her mother instead of her. And if her farewells to him had been as hard as she imagined, then having another blow would be even worse. And again there wouldn't be any difference, if she said it in person or said nothing at all.

Others she did not know that well, even though she had lived with them for almost a year. Surprising, how very few true friends you can make in such a timespan. Once all arguments were settled in her head, Wraen got to her feet and headed towards the borders. She had no idea, what lied at the next bend of the road, but no matter, what it was, she would meet it with head held high and a confident smile.
