One of the bigger bulls fixed a suspicious eye on the atramentous ingénue and she darted a few harmless paces away to appease him, making a ruckus in the shallows as though she was grappling with a sizable fish. Perhaps this would distract some of the creatures long enough to satisfy her new friend. She hoped so!
