for @Damsel!!!
Aderyn had lost track of time. Across the meadow darted a squirrel, and the coywolf pursues. The critter disappears in the grass, and it takes a moment for the yearling to realize it had never been there in the first place. Oh, not again...
There is something fundamentally wrong with this desert, she knows. It seems a lie personified, and if not for the garden tucked away on the mesa, she would have long moved out of the area.

She has not come this far before, and yet the hound is glad she has. A strange creature moves through the meadow ahead of her, chasing nothing Damsel can see. It is not wolf, nor is it coyote; she wonders if somehow it is both. Two creatures she has been taught to despise wrapped into one atrocity.
Stood some distance away she watches in silence, nose wrinkled as this thought passes through her mind. The meadow she has claimed as her own is some distance away, but nonetheless she raises her muzzle and releases a howling-bark to call whoever is near enough to hear it.
These creatures are to be intimidated, to be chased. Whether the other's join her or not she will not hesitate to bare her teeth

For a moment, she is too dazed to realize the scent. There, it comes to her. A dog? A domestic dog, like the ones that weren't too uncommon back home? How odd. Aderyn knows enough to be cautious, though she still approaches, tall ears pinned back apprehensively.
The patched creature seemed an even size to her, and the coywolf finds herself somewhat relieved. "Hey! How come ya ended up here?" What a rude question...

It comes near, and she is quick to snarl; a warning against coming too close. A question is posed in words which the hound only partially understands.
She is similar in size to what is in front of her, and so she does not hesitate to step forward and begin a slow circle around it. Her head lowers, taking careful and deliberate inhales of the strangers scent as though assessing a course of action.
Same as you or wolf. Her brow furrows as she responds, finding the question to be rather pointless.
