All Welcome
Chaudry had always thought himself a good man. He was cunning, strong, skilled in every way. He was the one his maman did not worry for, the responsible son.

He was a fighter, it was what he was built for. It was what his father had done, and now it was what he would do. His job was to protect territory, protect wolves, but most importantly, protect tradition. But what was he to do when it was his maman breaking said traditions?

She was the one in charge, he felt that he had no right to question her. But on the other hand, was it disrespectful to his grandmother if he did not?

He let out a heavy sigh, padding through the trees.

it was funny how what were practically roommates could differ!

kraai trotted through the territories, placid smile upon his face, humming a tune from his homeland, the deepwood. dark tail swayed back and forth as the shadow bounded across the lands. a similar scent caught him, then, and he grinned. a friend! the recruiter.

chaudry! he called, honey eyes calling to the figure up ahead. a heavy sigh wrung out, and so the boy found himself padding quickly towards him, growing closer. is everything alright with you? accented words spilt from his lips. curious, weary.

The voice of Montagne's newest yearling caught his attention, and he was quick to turn his head and spot their little crow. It's nothing to worry about, mon ami. He responded with a smile, a trait he had taken from Tousaint.

What are you doing so far from the vale? On a scouting trip? He asked, his tail gesturing for the boy to join him as he walked. He had heard whispers of his mother sending out the Magnolia's.

the boy would nod his head, then, not wishing to pry.

though as a magnolia, wasn't gathering information important?

but this was his packmate, so he supposed not.

ah, yes, you could say that! mostly just having a look around, keeping an eye out before viskani's departure, being dutiful and all that. holding onto his loyalties and making sure everyones aware of them! just a boy, young and eager to find his place in the world. and to make sure everyone else knows his place, too!

making sure theres no threats that could hurt the matriarche on her journey!

the quick wag of his tail deemed either endearing or annoying by many.

The boys chipper behaviour admittedly inspired some optimism from Chaudry. Dutiful as always then. He said, voice practically a rumbling purr. He was impressed with his judgement in choosing to send Kraai to the mountains.

This is an important time of year. He stated, his tail flicking. Maman has yet to have a daughter, we all must hope for her to do so this time. It was odd, really, that in three litters she had only managed to have sons. Chaudry wondered if she may be cursed.

But should she fail time and time again, the good thing about a son is that he could provide her with a granddaughter.

Our first year in the vale too, we need large litters for more hunters next year.
