Stavanger Bay 'there is no connection without an open heart!'

morning found elspeth skirting along the shore, waves lapping gently at her ankles as she walked. 

the water was frigid and bitter in its cold but the goldfinch could not find it in her to draw away from its kiss. it was refreshing, cleansing, against the tight pull of her skin. 

the she-dog paused in her meandering, just long enough to turn and take in the sight of the foggy morn and the calm seas -- a world cast in dreamy grey and white.

He hadn't meant to get so lost. But he'd caught wind of a mountain lion on his initial trip back to @Widow, and decided to cut a different path down to where she, John, and his sisters had settled instead of waiting it out. It was supposed to be quicker. But a shortcut turned into a long cut, and by the time he realized he was lost, Simeon had so misplaced his steps he couldn't even find his way back to Kai, where he at least could have started again.

So he did what any lost child would do: he kept walking.

And finally, he found his way back to the sea.

Oh, thank you, Adonai! It was all he could do but sigh with a great wind of relief. Once step closer to where he was supposed to be.

The ocean stretched on before him, the same and different from what he remembered, with no sign of the Isle. Just rolling waves and wheeling gulls. But at least there was someone here.

Hi! he called out, and clipped a steady trail towards her, Hello! she was turned with face towards the waters, but even in the morning glow he could already tell one thing: she was quite unlike any wolf he'd ever seen before.
