Hideaway Strath Third child, restless child

Mere weeks had passed and yet the boys were growing large and strong, Atka too, fuelled by their destinies they grew and then ate until they grew some more. Looking at him now, his eventual titanhood was plain to see for any who looked upon his blessed form.

Upon unsteady feet he would wander, around the den, a dash for the entrance before the mother beast swept him up by the scruff to put him back in his rightful place, nestled against her warm stomach. She was as gentle as she was beautiful, though the whelp knew from experience not to take that beauty as a sign of strength. Their mother was fearsome, to say the least.

She had bestowed upon them along with the father beast a birthright of stone and blood, a kingdom to conquer and fellow wolves to crush and tear beneath them. Of course, Atka was too small to understand much of this, prophecies did not swirl inside his brain and drive him to madness. Not yet.

The pup struggled over to the farthest wall on tiny, unstable legs, the widest he had yet traveled. Here there was a strange thing, part of their den but small and round. Barely bigger than his paw. What was this? "Mam." He barked, tail starting to wag as he craned his head back to call for her. The pebble was fascinating to one who had never ventured outside.
