Hideaway Strath Third child, restless child

She watched and winced as Atka bit down on the rock, finding out quickly that it was hard and would hurt his sensitive baby teeth. She was prepared for his reaction, and so she received him with affectionate kisses and nuzzles as he came back to her for comfort. 

Ky shifted beside her, and she looked over to find him vomiting up partially digested food for Tulok. She smiled at her husband as he shared his dislike for the activity. She didn't mind it too much. She would do whatever she needed to do to keep the children healthy and happy. Vomiting was a small price to pay. She could understand his discomfort, though, and she loved to watch him care for their children. It made warmth swell in her chest. 

Alduin seemed distracted with the rock still, dancing around it and growling adorably. When he looked over at her and their last born, pride visible on his face, Simmik couldn't help but grin. Good job, baby, she told him. He seemed to notice the food then, and came barreling over to partake in the meal Tulok had wasted no time with. She tensed a little, unsure how the second born would react—he could be possessive of his food, which was why it was helpful to have her husband to offer more. Tulok was especially possessive over his father, so instead of waiting for the bickering to start, she quickly got to work with bring up the contents from her own stomach. 

She delivered the warm, mushy meal on the ground next to Atka. Then she nuzzled him. Eat, handsome, she cooed softly to him. Now there was plenty of food to go around. It seemed in the meantime, their first born had taken in his food too quickly and vomited it back up in front of him. He had wasted no time attempting to re-ingest it, and she could see no issue with it; no need to waste a perfectly good meal. 

She smiled over at Ky, overcome with gratitude to have this moment with him.
