Ouroboros Spine sure would like some sweet company

As quiet settled in upon the pair of bathers, Ruenna almost regretted asking her question, wondering if Kukutux had felt it was too familiar. Rue had all but given up on receiving an answer when Kukutux's maw parted, and the words began flowing. 

It would have been dishonest for Rue to claim that she understood completely what Kukutux had meant to communicate in her wave of speech. Particularly esoteric was the part about the necessity of being apart from her mate, with two balances, but only sharing one. 

However, when Kukutux spoke again, she touched on the difficult truth with with Ruenna was all to familiar. 

"You will choose the man who is best for Moonglow, who is not necessarily the man that your heart desires," Ruenna paraphrased slowly, nodding. If she had to make such a decision, she knew she would choose exactly in the manner Kukutux described. Perhaps this is what the duck meant by "two balances:" there was the balance of the pack, and the balance of one's own heart and family.

Ruenna wondered if Kukutux spoke hypothetically, or if there were already two (or more) men she had in mind as she spoke.
