it was still, the air tonight.

the slight breeze would whistle as it blew against the entrance of the home. she would punish herself against her husband at the idea of being cold. it reminds her of the times before the disaster struck, it reminded her of peace. and so, she would allow herself to enjoy it, perhaps even too much. her heart only wanted to be held, and the woman knew better than to fight against the comfort of his presence.

she'd let her own muzzle brush against him reassuringly. and for a few moments, she was happy. shikoba would lay still and only feel her heart beat soon sync up with his. and there, she would fall asleep.
