His voice was a meld of mockery and bitterness, each syllable dagger sharp. He clicked his tongue, letting his head loll to the side, a wild cackle breaking free from his throat.

His rounded ears twitched, opalescent gaze sharpening with sudden clarity. Eyeless? Now there was an idea. The thought flickered through his mind, dark and enticing.
