She couldn’t help but smile, and all the new mothers didn’t surprise her too much, it was spring. Was it not? “Well then, I extend my congratulations to you and your family. I’ll make it a plan once the children are ready to explore their outside world.”

She understood that he couldn’t stay long, even taking her attention away from here was a challenge. She wanted to fuss over them, coo to them lullabies.

“We will make it happen in due time. For now, we must embrace the roles of parents, I’m sure they’ll grow too quick.” She reached to nuzzle his neck ruff, “Be safe, Valiant. May the winds carry you quickly home.” She then turned to resume her caring of the babes, once he’d been lost to the trees.

She whispered to her children, a voice soft as cotton, “You will have a big family, my children. You will meet them, you’ll never be alone.”
