Just like old times, he'd cajoled @Morticia, even knowing how she hated to be reminded of the past. Oh, but she was beautiful when she was vexed; beautiful in any state, truly, but nothing set his heart racing quite like her emeraldfire rage. She'd been so quiet for a time he'd nearly feared she would leave him, or threaten it again at least, and so he'd relented just a touch. Her handmaid would accompany them. @Saede, or whatever the girl was called.
Aside this lone servant, it was just the two of them. Just like old times. The bulk of his forces were left to Piper; there were doubts whispered about the girl, he knew, but she was a born strategist. Atlas was untroubled.
He even felt lighter than he had in years, abuzz with anticipation at seeing his son again. @Cassius, too, faithful soldier that he'd proven himself. The boys had found a place, he'd been told. Somewhere to stake a claim while they began their search.

What do you think, love? Should we announce ourselves, or see how long it takes the boy to identify an interloper?Atlas mused aloud, not really asking his wife. His eyes found her all the same. Whatever decision he made would be his own, but he wanted to hear her thoughts first — to see if they mirrored his, or correct them if they did not.
