Sunhawk turned to the fluffy stormcloud to his right. She was still upright and angry, good - that meant she was still alive. He grinned and offered a shoulder. He was only ever so slightly jealous that Lionel got to go ahead with Maia while he limped along with Grumba, but things weren't all bad. They'd managed to escape Wyclops alive for the most part, that counted for something.

"Aightles, off we go." Sunhawk began to move. It was hard to ignore the cute flouncing of Maia's tail so he looked elsewhere, just hoping that their camp was not too far from here. His ribs were starting to complain loudly and Umbra needed rest.

last for meeee

lionel was pleased as spiked punch that he got to ride ahead in style with maia. and while he enjoyed very much this privilege, from time to time he drifted back toward sunhawk, in a solidarity with the other that was boyish, boisterous, and brotherly. switching between he and pretty maia until they arrived at this camp, lionel found himself buoyed by a new and genuine joy.

Boy, was he ever glad when Maia's gait finally slowed and they ended up at a crude encampment. Sunhawk was patient enough to deposit Grumba gently on some soft loam, but as soon as she was settled he threw himself into the dirt and curled into a little ball.

Maia's voice was the last thing Sunhawk was aware of before he drifted to sleep. Heavy sleeper as he was, he snored loudly and mightily but never stirred. In the morning after some suggestive winks at Lionel (did you get any last night, brother???) he and Umbra continued on their way to the Bay. Sunhawk hoped it was not the last he saw of Maia or Lionel; one he'd definitely bang, the other he wouldn't mind hanging with again.
