They left the river, and now they were here. Kekoa was not sure why it left him so bothered. He found himself pacing the expanse of his new home in a restless fashion more often than not; walking to the border to eye the distant ravine, then back to the water that flowed through the territory. He only stopped to either eat or sleep.
One benefit he had found was that the area grew the exact mushrooms he had been searching for not so long ago. If he had known they were so close he would have explored this area far sooner. But nonetheless they were here now, and he was able to begin consuming them at a regular rate once again. He was returned to the trance-like state that had made him Saatsine's ghost talker in the first place.
The sun was falling and the young man, finally, laid down for a rest. Eyes shut, and quickly he was off to sleep. His dreams had been far more colorful as of late, but tonight it was vivid; an island surrounded by darkened waters. A litter. Saatsine in the snow. His birth home. And last, Kaisaan with a woman he recognized well for she had occupied his mind relentlessly for days. He awoke with a start and the answer was instantly clear to him; though it likely was the reasonings of a teenage boy discovering the side of his brain that follows his dick rather than a true answer. He had said Saatsine would have his children come summer, and they would; clearly the spirits agreed.
As he stood a final image flashed through his mind. The eyes of a man laid upon the ground. He shivered, but brushed the thought away.
