Rannoch regarded the night sky with curious eyes, seeking the mouse that Liffey spoke of. The brightest star upon the indigo canvas was not difficult for him to find and he smiled as his attention fell upon it. The actions that followed, namely his searching for the elusive mouse,  found Rannoch without a victory, but, despite this, he took the loss easily and returned his attention to his stargazing companion. 

"What is another one of your favorites?" he asked after a pause, his words ringing into the silence of the night eagerly. Though finding stars wasn't necessarily the easiest task for the brute, he was liking both Liffey's company and hearing about the stars and as such he'd keep asking until she would grow tired of either his antics or company-- whichever came first.
a crime so old as the sky and bone

all is almost lost and it starts to show
