Big Salmon Lake valleys formed where the wolf had lain

In no time at all another raptor was there. Hydra thought she might recognize this one, was that... X? But a particular marking disputed her photographic memory, and Hydra slowed to a halt, panting. They'd been this close two times over, but that was nature for you. Nothing was a guarantee. Hydra watched the bird fade from view, the meal out of sight but not out of mind. 

She licked her chops, far from satisfied with the turn of events but grimly accepting of them. What could you do in that instance? Hydra had plenty of energy left to utilize, but she remembered her nameless partner. Her blue eyes turned, and then her head swung to look at him. Too tired to have another go at some unlucky wildlife? She inquired with a small grin.
