@Peewit, but anyone is welcome to jump in <3
the snap of its neck breaking told her the rabbit was dead. she ceased the vigorous shaking motion she had used to kill it, tasting blood. her belly lurched in hunger but it was not time to eat yet. first, she had to go grab her other kill, a gull with an injured wing, and so she did.
it was uncomfortable, but she managed to carry both carcasses back to the place where she and her brother slept. there, she found that peewit was no longer about. with a soft sigh she dropped the kills from overstretched jaws. she thought he might wait until she returned with food to go wandering off, but she was not surprised by his absence. peewit was known to be carried off by his whims at times.
consequently, she had pick of the kill, and chose the gull. bird meat was a rarity; she could not remember the taste, in fact. avo lowered herself onto her belly, long front limbs stretched out with the gull wedged between them. she began to eat.
