she had walked here before.

it had been hushed, the company had been good. yet time had dragged on. she figured the golden woman would be long gone and she could simply... she was not positive.

it did not matter, though.

voices raised through what should have been silence. there was nothing jovial in the sounds and she knew one voice. she prowled closer, closer and closer. she did little to hide her encroaching presence. far more interested in being involved.

reckless behavior had seemingly been on an upswing, for her.

You - you absolute dickweed - Reverie was seething at @Sunspot, who was just standing there like an idiot. She wasn't sure when she'd started yelling, or when he'd gone from yelling back to staring at her in shocked silence. Maybe somewhere between her calling him a fuckface and a shit-eating liar.

I told you. I told you not to follow me - not to ask about me, or talk about me, or anything. What part of I'm done did you not understand? I just want to be left alone, Sunspot. That's it. I -

In her ranting she still hadn't noticed that they weren't alone — but that was when her brother finally saw fit to break his silence and cut her off.

Reverie was pissed at him. That was nothing new. She hadn't even given him a moment to explain himself — but that, too, was more or less expected.

What he didn't expect was unfamiliar company. Immediately Sunspot tensed, hackles bristling a little already, and lifted his voice to carry over the sound of his sister's agitation: Look - rip me a new one later, alright? First - I wanna know who the fuck she is, Sunspot gestured toward the pale, scarred stranger. Some woman. Too nosy for her own good, he thought.

she had not realized her hackles had become like golden spires.

she felt such a sudden overwhelming anger over someone yelling at reverie. something old and raw ripped up through her innards.

men, her first disgruntled thought.

someone more important than you. she sneered with a nasty spat. do you want him to leave you alone? she looked over the man to reverie now.

a dog patiently awaiting command.

Royal Eagle. Reverie flushed and fell silent, though secretly she was grateful for the intrusion. All at once her anger deflated, and she was left with only rueful frustration to draw on. In some ways it was enough.

No, no - that's alright. That's just my brother. You can ignore him, Reverie's tone was softer for the woman. Sunspot was all but forgotten for a moment; she stepped past him to greet Royal Eagle, casting him only a brief glance meant as a warning.

Are you alright? Do you need something? She couldn't help her concern. Reverie hadn't thought to see the gilded woman again, certainly not with such a large group nearby. Yet here she was. Why?
