deirdre did not particularly enjoy being so far from home, but understood it to be a necessity. casmir had come to her, and deirdre thought it right that she go to him. she wished to welcome rowan to return, if she wished it, and to let her know that her children would always have a place within donnelaith. deirdre wanted to say this much to casmir, too; perhaps it would be he that would revive their ghost of a sister, eilidh, but she could not be certain!

the youth had ascended to the plateau's tallest point, and looked down toward the crystalline waters that were held in its arms. within them were birds of which deirdre had never seen, but they were so lovely to her, and the scene was so beautiful she found herself unable to turn away from it!
