You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

June was just simply June. A leaf had caught her attention – but she did pull away when she heard Mason’s war cry. Her sweet voice threw out syllables which could only be deciphered by her close family oftentimes. Mason tilted his head to one side, confused, then received a bop between his ears from June. He chortled, waiting for her to turn and run. Perhaps she hadn’t realise she had touched him the first time.



 


June turned and sped away, as fast as her little legs could carry her. Mason began to count down softly under his breath, from ten, allowing her a decent headstart. Once she was far enough past him he set off, making his footfalls as loud as he could so she would know he had.


He still closed in on her quickly, despite trying to keep his gallop to a minimum. Carefully he reached out to tap her…
