Blacktail Deer Plateau and listens raptly to your lilting voice

she heeds the call swiftly, abandoning the squirrel she'd been chasing as it leaped fluidly through the barren canopy. it would hardly make a good homeboy anyway, she admitted; it was fast and mean and had no desire to be anywhere near her. she was beginning to consider that, perhaps, she was not fit for a homeboy. it was a rather despairing thought, though she tried not to dwell on it. 

"mama?" she calls as she swings into sight, tail wagging easily behind her as she moves to place a gladened kiss on her mother's cheek.
