One would think after a lifetime of living by the sea and enjoying all sorts of clams, and mussels, and oysters, Kingsley would have quite a knack for prying the damn things apart but, alas, maybe his teeth just weren't what they used to be. He frustratedly nibbled on the edges before turning it over with a paw, sniffing the thing all over like a thief trying to work out the code to a vault.

He was so caught up in his examination that he did not notice the other's approach, doubly so due to her cautious, quiet movements. It wasn't until her clear voice rang out over the din of the ocean waves did Kingsley realise he had company.

He paused, blinking in surprise, before he cast his gaze over one shoulder to the dark, young female who had appeared. Instantly, the pirate's features relaxed into a lopsided grin, and he turned completely, though kept one paw upon his upright prize as if showing it off. "Aye and a fine night t'you, miss," he greeted, before nodding at the mussel beneath his foot. "Have ye ever gone fishin' in a tide pool before?"
